Excellent, family-run hotel in the heart of San Francisco. Location makes it easy to get to many different parts of the city, and it is on the Powell Street streetcar line, so for tourists it is a good base. Front desk service is very polite and affable, there are cookies, coffee, fruit and infused water in the lobby. Rooms are small (reflecting the historic nature of the building - built in 1914), but very comfortable, and they have done a very good job of updating the decor and amenities. I love the Pillow Talk pillow menu - a selection of 12 different types of pillow for guest comfort. There is no fitness facility, but they have made arrangements with a gym around the corner that works well. I would definitely stay here again.
