I cancelled my membership. I began the process in August and only just a few days ago (November 20 or 21,2018) did it finally get completed, yet I still got charged for Septemeber, October and November. The operations manager, Hannah, is garbage as far as I'm concerned. Notice I didn't say at her job. But she clearly was milking the situation. I e-mailed the club about my sistuation and why I needed to cancel. Initially, communication was great. The membership consultant ( I think it was Nick) told me I could send a certified e-mail to Hannah explaining the situation, along with documents to prove I would be gone all the time. So I sent the e-mail. She didnt respond. 2 weeks later, I e-mailed again. She asked me if I made an appointment. I said no because I can't because I travel for work 100% and I asked her to read through the email thread that I had already forwarded her and asked me. She claimed she did. CLEARLY she didn't because she asked me questions that were already answered in detail in the thread. So I called her. She sounded annoyed. Woe is you Hannah, that you do your job. She told me to send in the proof and that we could move forward with this process. I finally did about a month later. I wasn't home that whole time, which is what I told them would happen from the start. Again, no response. I waited and waited. Finally I tried to call the owner, Mr. Lavender. Ofcoarse, he wasn't available, so I left a message and asked for a call back. Nope. Then I did some research on the club website. What a joke. He claims he was a PRT coordinator. Basically, he told fat sailors to keep running. Yet sailors are getting kicked out of the Navy right and left due to being too fat. I also did 6 years sir. NAVY PRT is totall bulls***. You should have just left that whole part out because it just makes you less credible. Anyway, finally, when I had some HOLIDAY time at home, I walked into the club and asked to see Mr. Lavender. Ofcoarse, no one would let me see him. Nick was there. He knew exactly why I was there. He cancelled me out in like 2 minutes. Was that so difficult ya'll!? I left it at that and a sh**ty google review.
Aside from the poor leadership...
Nick, Bryce, all the other trainers walking around, the front desk staff...they all seem really happy to be there and to help, which is pretty cool. The club itself is pretty nice. They have tons of classess. Lots of decent equipment. A pretty cool outdoor area. But all that isn't enough for me to give more than one star. If you join this club, just don't plan on ever cancelling, aka stop paying, and you should have a good experience.
