My spouse and I are wine club members who live far away, so to make sure we get out here regularly, we switched from having our shipments mailed, to onsite pickup. Best decision ever. We were married here in 2013, so every time we return, we get to relive the romantic and friendly moments shared by all who attended. It's a really nice way to bolster our relationship and remind ourselves why we married in the first place. Regarding the tasting room, wine club members only need to check in with the sales person to receive a complimentary flight of wine to taste. Non-member price is $20 per person, unless they're guests of members, in which case the non-member price is discounted. There are only two wines I dislike: Vernaccia Nera, a sparkling red that has a hit of black pepper on the finish, which I don't care for; and Arneis, a super light white wine which lacks the fullness I prefer. Ponte also has three very sweet wines: Beverino, Late Harvest, and their Port. If you aren't a fan of sweet reds, these aren't for you. My favorites: Doppietta, Montepulciano, Nebbiolo, Holiday Zinfandel, Super T, Barbera, Angry Wife (White and Red versions), Malbec, Chardonnay, Pas Doux, and Moscato (more like a sparkling or champagne than sweet white). You can taste six different wines, or taste 3 and have a glass of your favorite, which takes up three tastings on your ticket. Finally, if you want to support local artisans, the tasting room has a few displays set up which have edible, wearable, and decorative items crafted in and around Temecula.
