I wanted to purchase a new recliner for my mother-in-law as a Christmas present. We placed the order online and picked a delivery date (which was after Christmas, but not a big deal). Today, I checked my spam folder to see an email form Homemakers requesting a photo/copy of my ID and my credit card and/or credit card statement. This request was justified as a fraud prevention measure; however, this is an extremely unusual (and in my opinion, highly inappropriate) request. Additionally, this request increases the consumer's risk of identity theft. In the modern age of online shopping, there is zero reason for this. If you're unwilling to process out of state orders, it should be plainly written on your website. Do NOT recommend. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
