This may seem brutal and that's because this hospital is critically ill. It seems that 95% of the staff are allowed to conduct matters as they please. If there is anyone that is outside the black box I haven't met them. My 1st experience 10 years ago has repeated itself over and over and over. In the past six months, members of my family, as well as myself, have endured what would normally be deemed as unacceptable and liable treatment. Just finding out that my dad (75) is there as I write, 9 a.m until who knows, in the same hallway as his arrival. It is now almost 9 p.m. His condition has deteriorated, his injuries have not been attended to & I'm told he is still bleeding. I'm on my way & it will be at least 2 hours before I land. If only I were there to greet them face to face. I had the opportunity to expect healing services from them about 3 months ago. After a 6 hour painful wait, I finally slid to the floor in an attempt to slither to the door for an Uber. Only then was I put in a cubicle and miraculously a "doctor" was at my bedside. During this time I also watched a young man writhing in pain, his foot injury had the veins so bulged I thought they would burst. He was covering his face with his woolen cap to keep from screaming. He sat near me almost an hour, looking at every medical person passing by, for help. I am sad he had to endure such madness but also proud that he endured without becoming a negative statistic. Previously I was transported by ambulance and we were greeted with,"find a space to park her because it will be at least a 6 hour wait before we can get to her". After the 7th hour I begged my family to please get me out of there. Please tell me, are the people giving all this praise real or paid to insert something positive sounding into the truths that are being exposed. I pray, continually that God continues to extend his hand of mercy for those of us that find ourselves at the mercy of MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
