The Mrs. and I played there on 4/10/17. We were in town for a long weekend of golf and shows. We took an Uber from our hotel about $20 with tip. The golf club is unique. It has a gated entry. The castle club house is very cool with unique golf memorabilia. We were promptly greeted at bag drop and set up on the cart. Went inside to pro shop to check in as we booked through GN App. (Great Rate) Staff at desk were friendly and professional. Nice gear in pro shop and the usual prices. We went to the range to loosen up. Nice range area with range balls already set up at each bay. After warming up we went to hole 1 and were greeted by friendly starter Paul. He was great with flag placement and course info. He even took our picture on the replica Swilican bridge. The premise of the course is to replicate the holes from the Open Championship courses. Each hole marker has a brief description of the hole it represents and it's place in Open history. I think it does a good job of that with all the pot bunkers, and fairway mounds and undulations and some blind shots as well. No. 10 is the famous road hole from St. Andrews. In typical fashion you have to hit it over an Open replica score board which I did and drove it quite well. It was a perfect Vegas weather day....sunny 80 degrees and no wind...! The greens were quick. You can putt from the fairway in typical Open Championsip fashion as well. We found ourselves in a few of the pot bunkers as well...... Had to play sideways out of them...... No way to advance the ball...... Just like you see on TV! We stopped at the club house after 9 to get a club sandwich for the back 9. It came with homemade chips. It was a good lunch. You definitely need to keep the ball in play as it's just about impossible to find it in the gorse. Overall it was a great experience. I would recommend this course if you are looking for a unique golf challenge.
