The hotel is gorgeous. But it is beyond my price range. I wrote to the hotel asking for the best way to park nearby and walk in for a little while because of the historic value of the hotel relative to women's suffrage. I got a personal reply that was only interested in one question: what night did I want to book a room? When I repeated I wanted to visit as a history buff and get back on the road, I received no further reply. So for anyone like me, know that the the street between the hotel and the state capitol building has metered parking, and when I was there, there was no difficulty finding a spot. I found the display on suffrage, took pictures, looked around, and then left. In sum, I don't know anything about staying here, but I can comment on how one employee responded to someone's interest in just visiting, and she left me with a sense of stuffy arrogance that was distasteful. Update: I lowered my rating from 4 to 3 because of the insincere reply from the hotel that only affirmed my previously stated opinion. Also, employees in the lobby made no attempt to greet me and my daughter though looking right at us. I guess we did not look like Hermitage Hotel money.
