Really thought the pandemic would be over by my birthday but sadly it has not. So glad to have stumbled onto A.O.C. on yelp. I kindly requested a nice table and they were able to accommodate.
Ambiance: Reservations are to be made online. I was able to make one a day prior (maybe because it was a weekday). Definitely plan ahead if trying to book for a weekend. They check your temp at the door. I believe they have two sections of outdoor dining, one in the patio area and one in the parking area. I can only attest to the patio area which boasts about 7 tables, each can seat up to 4? The patio area was very lovely and romantic.
Food: Portions were small but also can be shared quite nicely with one other person. We ordered the three cheese plate (I believe was blue cheese, Brie, and a hard cheese), corn and avocado salad, clams, curried cauliflower, duck confit. For drinks we had the watermelon whiskey. Everything was delicious: the salad was very refreshing, the clams were soft and buttery, the cauliflower was heavy in the curry flavor which I do enjoy, and The duck was served very well similar to the ones to I had in Paris.
Customer service: The greeter, host, and all of the servers were very respectful. I don t drink much, so when I ordered a cocktail and requested an extra glass to share with my friend, they kindly gave us two mini cocktails. That did it for me right there.
TLDR; reservations. Romantic. Good food. Great customer service.
Side note: a.o.c. stands for appellation dorigine controlee: the French certification for geographical regions of wine, cheese, and agricultural products.
