The chancellor hotel is in a very nice location to visit most touristic places in San Francisco area. We felt quite safe and comfortable here, and although the breakfast costs extra ($18 pp) it is quite good. I have to point out, that during our visit the strikes were going on at some hotels close by. Although the chancellor wasn't targeted, you could hear them very clearly. They offer you help to find another place to stay, if you cannot bear it, and I don't think you can expect more for something so out of control for them.
