Called service with a very specific problem for a ...

Called service with a very specific problem for a Beetle. They had provided a very expensive key with very expensive programming a few months before. Key was not working. I was told it would have to be diagnosed at $165 and then the key may need to be reprogrammed at about $135. I said this was unacceptable. I looked on YouTube and read the manual closely. It was a common issue that took 1 minute to fix. Lierally, 1 minute. The service department is a fraud. If you need VW service, there are great places in Fresno - but avoid this place like the plague. I don't know if it was incompetence or flat out fraud, but neither is acceptable in a dealer's service department.
