I see a lot of negative reviews on here. I wanted to come and leave a positive one. I know things are hard for your staff right now. You re stretched too thin and some patients coming to you for care aren t happy. I don t doubt every staff member/medical professional is doing what they can for them, even if patients don t see it right now. For those that know what you sacrifice, I want you to know how extremely appreciated you are, and how vital you are. How lost so many people would be without you, and not just patients. And I wish it could be shown in a more validating way. Back in 2013 this medical center saved my son s life when he came nearly three months early. I had been admitted to the University for nearly 6 weeks prior, the staff trying to keep my baby safe and give him the best chance when my water ruptured early. After he was born, he stayed from November to February before being transferred to Mt. Washington. Every doctor, nurse, respiratory therapist, and other medical personal, did everything they can for both him and I. Life saving treatment for him, and life saving words, guidance, and kindness for me. In 2009 my Great Grandfather s heart failed him while he was receiving treatment as while inpatient. He was a vibrant man in life, and in the hospital this was recognized by the staff. They didn t just treat him like an old man (88) clinging to life. They treated him with dignity before his heart failed, joking with him, one nurse going out of her way to find him the current Sun paper when I couldn t be there. Made sure he was shaved because he didn t like looking scruffy and complained about it jokingly. And treated him with dignity when his time came. And was attentive to his comfort. Everything everyone does in that hospital is so appreciated by those that truly see you. I hope everyone stays as safe as they are able, both physically, and mentally. You don t deserve any unkindness you are getting right now. Thank you all for everything that you do. Below is a pic of my grandfather, years before he passed, at my oldest son s first birthday. The other pic, is my son you all saved, and is now 7, on his first day back to school this year. Thank you so much for them.
