I only give this hospital 1 star because it won't let me give a 0 the doctors downstairs do not listen to what you have to say They are way to busy looking down their noses at you making sure you know you are just a number to them and not worth much of their time. And scaring you and getting you to stay so they can get as much of your insurance money as they can. When you get to your room the nurses don't know why you are there either. The aids don't take the time to even check on you. The whole time I was up there which was at least 5 hours they had only checked on me twice. When my husband told the nurse that no one had even asked me if I was hungry the nurse said I was NPO. We told the nurse that no one told me that I was NPO and they were letting me drink the koolaid that I brought with me the whole time. The nurse said that she didn't know why I was NPO either and that she kept looking at the orders to try to figure it out herself . Usually when you are NPO it is posted inside your room and outside your room by the door but it was not posted anywhere. She also told me that most of the time that they, the staff, have to find out from the patient why they are up their as there is no communication between them and the doctors. After I had laid there all this time, most of it in unnecessary pain, I told my nurse that I did not want to be there any more. She told me that they couldn't make me stay and that I could leave anytime I wanted to. So I told her that that's what I wanted to do. She said ok and had me sign myself out. I will not give the name of my nurse or even what floor I was on as she was the only one that showed me true concern and compassion. She is a credit to her craft. And deserves to be praised. I hope she can find a better place to work in the future. We left there and went to a real hospital. We went by cab when we told the cab driver why we were going from one hospital to another one he said that he understood and that this hospital is known even among them to be a bad place to be. That is really sad.
