Melba's is Pumkin Escobar's favorite soul food spot in Harlem. It's got a cozy quaintness that gives the restaurant a real home-y feel and that extends to the food. It fits and represents the community perfectly. In fact, on any given evening you can catch a Harlem icon like Dapper Dan in the house having chicken & waffles (with strawberry butter which is pretty excellent, btw).
