When I checked in they charged 350 for "incidentals" but failed to explain that even if you spend $100 for a subpar meal they don't take it from the $50 a day incidentals fee- they take it from your account. Basically they hold $50 a day hostage. By night 3 there was $1800 something pending on my card. Also when i went to ask what was going on because I was concerned they'd take even more and I'd be stuck for a week with no money on my vacation--the manager tells me "you need to plan for stuff like this" I genuinely could've jumped across the desk at this point. The entire 7 day stay was $1433 total. Room was tiny- peeling paint old dusty decor pretty gross honestly. Bathroom so small you could barely open the door with you in it. Water pressure low- 30 minutes to fill a bath. No microwave. They need to renovate because they're running a scam. The only good thing was the view-and the giftshops- the employees there were phenomenal. But I can assure you can find that view on air bnb for a quarter off the price. ALSO we ordered the $38 salmon and the $42 steak (which was weirdly sweet) $110 in room service fees with their automatic gratuity system. I complained about the salmon because it had a metallic tasting fruit puree on it and they did nothing. DO NOT WASTE MONEY HERE. Support local entities instead. Also don't bother with the same generic reply to my message it means nothing and proves the point you let this place go. 98% of the amenities shut down as well.. Girdwood is phenomenal but this place doesn't give good vibes. Really sucks because I had high hopes for it.
