I visited with a school group (Y5) and we had an excellent time. Our Guide, a lovely gentleman called Edward, was wonderful. He was so passionate about the boat and her history, and, as he took us all around the boat, he kept the children engaged from start to finish. We also had a space to lock up bags and packed lunches when we arrived, then returned to them at lunchtime to use picnic tables (outdoor, but sheltered & under patio heaters). After lunch we had a well thought out and engaging workshop and a free goodie bag for the class to take back to school. An excellent day all round, highly recommended! I definitely recommend doing the boat tour first, then a quick look around the museum, then lunch, then finally the workshop, when the children are ready to sit down for a bit. Last year we did the museum first, but the children were just itching to get on board, and didn't take much in. If you do the boat tour first, the museum will be a lot more meaningful for the children.
