This "university for the real world" is making itself a good competition to UQ, though hardly. The staff are all well trained and qualified and the equipment are all certified, but the passing standards are just too low. Many-a-time students would pass a course and then still have no idea what's going on. Unfortunately this university does NOT push for excellence, despite meeting the conditions that allow for it. You often get people say "university is a waste because I haven't learnt anything" well yeah, it's cause they went to QUT
It's location at gardens point serves more as a central Brisbane attraction much like the Ferris wheel, though on a good note, it's acceptance policies do well to increase the overall educational/technological level of the city and the state.

edit: I came down to do business and management at QUT, but got sick of the policies that passes as much people as possible so transferred away.
