I have been an Second Gear Sports member for...well an eternity. My first purchase was for a backpacking trip to Europe and I have been a fan ever since. They have a very good online store that I use to determine if certain items are in stock. The in-store experience has uniformly been very positive. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. The quality of the merchandise is always very high. Note that you are paying more for better quality, but your purchases of regular priced items are counted towards an annual dividend that goes back to you in the form of a credit at Second Gear Sports . They have regular 30% off specials for single-items via USPS/email and they offer classes on an array of outdoors activities from learning how to ride a bicycle to rock climbing (though not in-store).
