My mother in law went to this ER and ended up being admitted and stayed 4 days, she notified the staff upon arrival about her allergies and they continued to give her a treatment with what she is allergic too, she started having a reaction and they just gave her benadryl and kept giving her the treatment, when she asked them if it had it in it they denied it and said no, after continued questioning they decided to contact the pharmacist and they said yes it was in there, then even after confirmation on what she was allergic too, they tried to give it to her again...! then when she spoke up, the nurse flipped out was VERY RUDE--- grabbed the treatment off her face with force, threw it in the trash and said THERE DID YOU SEE THAT.>!! DID YOU SEE THAT I THREW IT IN THE TRASH!1 NOW YOU WONT BE GETTING IT..!! really??? what NURSE does this?? you have an elderly women in the hospital that cant breath and having a reaction to the medication they are giving her that she is allergic too cause they can't READ and maintain proper records and then has to be treated like that.. she was afraid to say anything in fear that they would treat her bad or different.. I work for a very large and reputable hospital, and I will continue to contact the appropriate person to file a complaint on this AM nurse.. I know her charge nurse was Philip.. and she wears glasses..mid 40's-50's white- so if you know this nurse please let her know I will follow up on her actions and this be addressed- If need to call CMS or Joint Commission I will do this as well, no patient should fear on how they are treated, they do not need to be a nurse if they treat people this way.. Also will be contacting Employee Relations as well.
