This service sucked. I had an appt. between 8am and 1pm Saturday, the tech called at 4pm and said he'd be another hour(5pm). Then when he got here, he noticed my smoke and carbon monoxide combo wasn't working so I purchased 3 from him at $58. He twisted the old ones off and twisted the new ones on to the existing plates in the ceiling on each floor. No drilling was required. Since no drilling was required, the technician decided he would take the screws with him without permission. I didn't notice he took them until I read the package that said they were included. When I called Sears to speak with a manager, the rudest phone operator named Vane told me I had to reschedule the appt. for that tech to come back and she rescheduled it. She was so nasty and hung up before I finished talking. Of course, that tech didn't come back someone different did. I explained everything to her. She gave me her regional manager's number to complain( last name Arroyo). I left a message never to hear from him. I called Sears again to speak to a manager only
to speak with someone else who didn't have the story clear and told me don't call them back they will call me back.
So I initially called Saturday (day of service) , Monday, and Tuesday for assistance. On Tuesday, I spoke to Laura(complaint dept) about everything and she called back and said the technician who works 20 minutes away said he didn't know when he'd be back in my area and he would mail the screws. I asked Laura about the prices of the smoke/carbon detector being so high ($58 each), and told her the same ones were at Home Depot for $25. I asked if they could price match because I feel like I've been taken advantage of and if I was going to pay $58 I needed everything that comes with it. No one
Her manager said no because the technician had to install them (remember he took the screws with him and just twisted on the new ones to a plate previously installed by someone else ), they don't price match and they would be happy to give me a refund. No one is concerned about my inconvenience even though I'm a long-term customer in good standing. You guys suck! This adds to the inconvenience in the spring when the tech came out to check the AC without a ladder even though I told the person I scheduled with on the phone that they would need a ladder because the AC is on the roof . I had to reschedule that this year and last year because the technicians were not prepared . You guys excell in inconveniencing me at my expense and time. This is by far the worst service. Prices and all !
