Good day to anyone reading my review. I wanted to ...

Good day to anyone reading my review. I wanted to get the complete and accurate picture of my experience with Microcad and hope to share my story. The Review limit for Google Review is pretty small, so I had to cut down on a few things.

So, everything started on May 29 2016. I purchased a Lenovo L430 notebook computer from Canada Computers which was refurbished from Microcad Computer Corporation. I brought it home with me on May 30th. Now, its important to note that I do not live in the GTA/Vaughan. I live in Northern Ontario. So, I fully installed Windows 10. When it rebooted the Windows logo was grainy and then screen started to flicker. It eventually stopped, so I went on to Minecraft and started to play a game. Well, wouldn't you know it, the LED started to flicker again AND the sound was making a loud buzzing. So, I found the information for Microcad and sent them an email.

Professional reply? Not even close. I got a reply from a technician named Brendan (spelling may be incorrect). The information he provided was that he would get back to me in the morning. So, the next day I email again since they did not bother to email me back. I said I was willing to ship the unit to them and cover the shipping. I finally heard back later that evening and they said sure. This was June 2 2016.

A little while goes by and I haven't heard anything. I email them June 13 2016 to inquiry what's going on. When I emailed them on June 13 they said it was not yet on the tech bench, however it would be going up later that day. I checked the tracking and the unit arrived at Microcad June 6 2016, so they had it for a week.

So June 15 I call them. I spoke with Andy. Andy said that the laptop was just being put on the bench today... Later that day they emailed me back and said that they had a "movie playing for two hours but we did not notice anything wrong". Okay, so I provided them with more information. I said to try slightly tilting the LCD display because that seemed to be a trigger. They said they would try that.

I call them June 17 since I never heard back. They said they were unable to see any LCD issues and that they did not see any issues with the sound. So, they offer to ship the unit back to me. I accepted, they ship it back to me.

I got the unit back in my possession June 20-24th. I powered it on, installed Windows. I almost had no words for how horrible the technicians are at Microcad. Within 1 minute of booting up the unit, the LCD was flickering and the audio was muffled. I was in complete shock. So, I did what any other reasonable technician would do (I am A+ and MCP certified?). I reset the unit approximately 10 times. Each time I did it, the exact same issue presented itself. HOWEVER, I did test playing a 1 hour video with the sound hooked up to a speaker and I did not notice any issues. So, how do you think they tested the unit?

So at this point, I am pretty livid. I email them asking them to take the unit back and cover shipping. Initially, they say they will not cover shipping. I called them and after that phone call they offered to ship it. I ship it out June 29 2016. I will skip a few minor details to stay within Google Review limits. So, they get back to me July 13 2016 and tell me they are unable to detect any issues with the unit (wow) BUT because the AC adapter was damaged during shipping (untrue) they would send me a new unit. So July 26 2016 I get the replacement unit back.

Do you want to hear the funny part? The Wifi card was defective, the audio was muffled, the Fingerprint sensor was no longer present on the unit and, the best part, the CPU was overheating. So I thought to myself 'what to do now?'. I referenced the Serial Number with Lenovo's global warranty - turns out this replacement unit still has factory warranty. I contacted Lenovo, they sent me a free shipping label to send to them. So I send the unit to them July 28 2016. I received the unit back August 3rd - Fully fixed, not a single issue - I finally have a laptop I can use.

PLEASE AVOID MICROCAD COMPUTERS IF YOU CAN!
