Homilies go on for 20 minutes. Many times mass goes on for 1-1/2 hour. According to Vatican a priest s homily should be no more then 8 minutes and Kelly s book on returning Catholic said homilies should be no more than 7 minutes. One mother told me her children no longer want to go to church. I love the church but am seriously considering St.Ann. Masses there last 1 hour including an informative homily.
