NUS provides you with great infrastructures and facilities. There are college bus which you could take to travel between faculties. Went to U-Town to eat at the foodcourt. The variety of the foods there are quite broad. You could find Korean, Indian, Japanese, Chinese and other foods. The price is cheap for students and non-students. There is also a small swimming pool in the U-Town

In the USP (I'm not really sure whether it's called USP because I found it in between halls near the U-Town) cafeteria/foodcourt area, there is also a halal food section. This canteen is only for NUS students since you need your student card to get the foods there.
