I just hung up the phone with the Social Security Office main number and realized I forgot to ask a question. Since the hold time was very long, I decided to call my local branch instead. I had no hold time and spoke with a friendly and knowledgeable man who gave me the answer I needed quickly and did not give me the "it is how it is so deal with it" attitude you so often get from government employees.

I still need to go to the office in person to finish my task, but I now feel like it will be a pleasant experience rather than a dreaded one.
