The front desk staff was excellent and very polite however the pools were freezing cold, beach Cabana staff was not polite and the food was just ok at best. Room service failed three times to bring us more bath towels, water, and toilet paper. This place looks and sounds great but it's just ok. The upper management should adopt a few tips to better the culture from other 4 and 5 diamond resorts. If they were nicer and more polite and respectful of their guests and showed more appreciation it would go a long way. I stayed at two different Vidanta properties in Mexico which both would be excellent examples for them to learn from. I love the ground, I wish out stay was better.
Not to mention, my parents got this place for $1,100 for 7 days INCLUDING airfare from Apple vacations, but when I got down here, the front desk wanted $200 a night just to add me to their couch. I wasn't taking up a new room, I don't drink, and I had to pay for the spa amenities anyway so why they would charge me double what my parents paid just to add me on to their existing room so I could crash on their couch is beyond me. Oh well. I do like this place but I have a really sour taste in my mouth from the beach Cabana attendant Juan who was very rude and condescending to me. He was a gas station attendant that would be one thing but he is supposed to be serving the guests at this so-called for diamond five-star resort. With places that brag about being the four diamond level resort, they should be held accountable to a higher level of expectation I think. They are much nicer properties with more politics in my opinion.
