I've previously left a positive review and have even encouraged other students to live here but my thoughts have dramatically shifted in the last 3 months. The woods of San Marcos has made a series of mistakes regarding me specifically (a resident for now 3 consecutive years). It s a shame that i have given them my business for this long but i will not support this complex any longer and have given them many opportunities to fix where they have wronged me and so many other residents.

1. My water heater broke and it flooded the carpet in my room, my linen closet, lifted my floors, and spread mold throughout all of these. I ve made repeated maintenance requests to no avail. Mind you it took a minimum of three emergency maintenance requests to see even a permanent fix on my water heater. I am currently still living with water stained carpet, walls, lifted floors etc. INCLUDING IN MY PANTRY.

2. I ve also made repeated attempts to get my door fixed and it has happened either. I had multiple incidents where my door could easily be opened even after being locked. I ve even had people try to break in while i was home. Two weeks ago my door handle was completely stuck and my roomate and i had to break in everyday for a week to be able to get inside of our apartment. (This happened even after an EMERGENCY maintenance request)

3. Another huge issue is the security. Many friends i have here have shared literal horror stories about the crime. A little known fact is that the woods of San Marcos makes more 911 calls than any other student apartment by FAR. Besides the break in story I ve shared previously an incident occurred late this past summer. A shooting occurred and i was waiting at the bus stop (where it happened) just 10 minutes after because i had no idea. All they sent was an email NOT A SINGLE EMERGENCY TEXT OR ANYTHING. I ve even requested that there is a number where residents can reach the on call security guard... again to no avail.

I would HIGHLY encourage anyone interested to reconsider and not to be bought out by the gimmicks of free food and activities.
