I would say this is a quintessential stop for anyone visiting Los Angeles (and of course a place for those of us who are local to remember to take advantage of on occasion). The art collection is impressive, the temporary exhibits are usually very interesting, and the grounds themselves are a work of art. The architecture and the gardens alone are a good reason to visit. Another obvious draw is that it's free. It's $20 to park, which is still a bargain if you have a car full of visitors, but it also has a bus stop out front. Walking or taking a bike or scooter up can be dangerous on the high-speed Sepulveda with no sidewalks, but it can be done too.
