WEDDING AT THE PARADOR DE GREDOS.

WEDDING AT THE PARADOR DE GREDOS.

We celebrated our wedding at this parador in June 2014. We usually live in Madrid, where we visit wedding venues, but finally we decided to take our guests to the Sierra de Gredos to celebrate such a special day. That decision, which may seem risky, was worth it, as the guests (about 120) thanked a "country" weekend that culminated in the ceremony held at this Parador.

From the beginning (almost a year ago) we were given facilities to organize the event, serving us a list of providers of music, flowers (we recommend Flores Aralia, in Avila capital), photos, etc. so that no detail is missing. Of course, giving you the freedom to hire others if you think appropriate and making it easier for them when the time comes. The facilities were maintained the days before and during the celebration, with very rapid responses to the incidents that arise (there was a very rapid time change, of those typical of Gredos, during the cocktail party, which they transferred to the interior of the Parador in a matter of seconds for the guests to continue without major problem). They also worked with absolute honesty: as an example, there were 2 last minute absences that were not counted in the final invoice (I know that not all sites do)

We did the wedding setup in the garden and it was phenomenal, in front of the pine forest and exquisitely decorated by the florists, just as we had left. How important it is that there are no unpleasant surprises that day. I give you my word that there were none.

The food, great. Not only because of the multiple menu combinations (I think you also have the possibility of building one to suit you with various dishes on the menu, although we opted for a closed one) but also because of the price that, after comparing with the places we had visited in the Community of Madrid (some with catering), it was even more advantageous. It also gave us peace of mind knowing that the kitchen was "next door" (the idea of catering, although we have no elements to criticize it, did not quite convince us). We hired an initial cocktail, which was long and of high quality (according to our guests, we, with the fuss of the photos, did not taste much that day, although in the previous test everything was delicious). Finally, the sirloin steak that made up the main course on the menu came out on the wedding day even better than the test one.

We made the open bar in a space of the Parador that welcomed the guests without problems, the DJ table and a large photo-call, with chairs for the elderly and more than enough space for that night's own dancing. There was also a wide cookout, with sausages, omelette and empanadas. We, now free from the commitment of the photos at that point in the night, took the opportunity to try everything, and everything seemed great.

And finally the Parador itself, which solves the accommodation ballot a lot for you and is a truly spectacular site. Older guests, with young children or who you know may be leaving soon, just press an elevator button to go to sleep. The young people, many of them in groups, stayed in one of the many rural houses that are less than 5 km from the Parador (ours did it in Hoyos del Espino, where we put a bus that is also hired without problems with the data that they give you in the Parador itself).

In short, a luxury for us and, from what we have been told, also for our guests. Thanks to the Director, the Head Diner and all the staff, for making us such a fantastic day.
