Review of Crowne Plaza Philadelphia West

Pros

Pros
Nice modern rooms.
Plenty of free parking.
Lots of close restaurants (most close @ 10 pm).
Indoor pool
Beds are pretty comfortable.

Cons
Room was not ready @ check in time.
No free breakfast.
Lots of noise transfer from room to room.
Not very accommodating for larger families (>2 children).
Seems to be frequented by large traveling groups (lots of buses in the parking lot).
No tubs - just walk in showers (problematic with little children).

My experience:
We booked two rooms and called ahead to ensure that we could have those two room (booked under tha same name) next to each other - preferably with an internal door that connected them. Arrived at check in and only one of the rooms was ready. Took all our stuff to that room and went to dinner. After dinner we took the kids to the indoor pool, which was over run by teenagers (we guessed a HS group that was staying there), so kids didn't get to play much and didn't have a good experience. Went to check on our adjoining room and they had given it to someone else - even though we had already checked in! Gave us a different second room on the same floor, but far away from the first. Due to their error they comped our breakfast at the onsite restaurant and said that was the best they could do. Having adjoining rooms was WAY MORE IMPORTANT to us than a free breakfast. Was a nightmare arrangement and no one slept much at all due to our rooms not being adjoining and have to go back and forth between them. Props to them on trying to "fix" their error, but it wasn't a fair "fix". Will find a different hotel next time we come to Philly.
