AMSCO Studio Series vinyl windows are being used in our new house that is currently under construction by Ivory Homes. I'm rather disappointed in the quality of the AMSCO windows that went into the house. Actually, in all fairness, I should clarify that I am disappointed in the quality of the positive action locking mechanism on the windows. It is cheap, flimsy plastic that feels like it is going to fall off, gets stuck easily and doesn't open or close very cleanly. The house isn't even complete yet and there are several of the locks that have broken off just from the little use they have seen from the contractors. It seems a shame to ruin what otherwise seems like a decent window with such a cheap piece of hardware. I'm hoping that we can replace these with the cam locks and that it won't cost us an arm and a leg to do so.
