My wife and I live about half an hour away from Bedford so we decided to drive over, have lunch and check it out. After lunch we wanted to explore a bit so we just walked down Main Street. We walked in to Horse Connection, mostly for me since they had a sign posted out front saying they carried Barbour, which happens to be a favorite brand of mine. As we get towards the back of th store the woman behind the counter came back to ask "Can I help you?" Not is there anything in particular you're looking for? Not is there anything I can help you find? Just "Can I help you?" This by it self wouldn't have bothered me. My wife and I said "No thank you we're just looking for now." She then proceeded to tell us what was on every floor starting with the bottom floor. "There's a lot of horse stuff, which you would probably find boring, but on the top floor there's sale items." That's when we got a bit offended. We found the tone of the shop to be assuming and patronizing. It just kind of left a bad taste in our mouths, but I'm sure it's great for horse stuff.
