Courteous and knowledgeable staff. Convenient to San Francisco airport and city rail transportation around Bay Area.
This is where the praise ends.
The rooms were apparently designed for Lilliputians or circus midgets. My wife and I had to literally take turns walking around the end of the bed, trim though we are.The hotel boasted walking trails which meant the streets have sidewalks, one of which passes by the scenic water treatment plant.
The water jets in the hot tub do not jet. They seep. I've seen bigger bubbles from a kid farting in the bathtub. When the maintenance man arrived he pushed the jet button ("jet" being the misnomer of 2018), observed the seeping bubbles and proclaimed, "it's working now!" Surely a DeVry graduate. After days of complaints we were informed "Oh yeah, we had to order parts." When was that? 1992?
There is complimentary coffee in the lobby up to the late morning hour of 7am whereupon it is abruptly whisked away presumably to force guests into buying the very same coffee for $5 in the hotel restaurant. Speaking of $5, bottled water that costs $1.48 at Walmart and $3.50 at the AIRPORT costs $5 here. Where are we? The Sahara desert??
As for the restaurant food - it won't kill you. Neither will chicken pox.
For God's sake don't bring a car!! It's $26 per night to park in their lot. One can only hazard a tremulous guess what they charge just to drive on the lot.
The shower had two water temperatures: cold and luke cold. After the maintenance man (same mechanical wiz) reversed the handle, it then was set at Cold or Lobster well done.
The hotel shampoo smells like mold on composted eucalyptus, undoubtably to dissuade assumed penurious guests from pilfering it.
All of this would be excusable if this were the Encino Red Roof Inn. But at these rates one is better off paying a modest upgrade and staying in a hotel featuring rooms large enough that one needn't go out into the hall in order to change one's mind.
