Teatown Lake Reservation is an amazingly peaceful, tranquil place to reconnect with nature all year long. The Hidden Valley trail is always a favorite, moving through a wide variety of terrain, with some optional slightly off trail bouldering for the adventurous. During the winter, go for a walk on the lake (but check that the ice is ready for it first). The nature center is great as well, housing some local animals both indoors and out, and providing information about the history of the area. This place would rate more than 6 stars if I could.
