So my basement needed some much needed repairs. Mind you yet we have planned this for a few months now. We were considering 2 different places. The holiday inn down town or the Grandriver hotel. My family of 5 went with the Grandriver hotel. We checked in this Sunday and we check out this Friday. The pool was spose to be a life saver . To burn there energy off while we wait on the contractors to green light us to go home . We WENT SWIMMING ON MONDAY. TUESDAY THE POOL WAS CLOSED. I CALLED FRONT DESK AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE WAITING ON A PART FOR THE PUMP. I ASKED HOW LONG BECAUSE REALITY IS THATS THE ONLY THING IN THE HOTEL THAT IS KID FRIENDLY. The Guy SAID A FEW DAYS AT MINIMUM. WE SENT OUT FOR IT BUT NO IDEA HOW LONG ITS GOING TO TAKE. RED FLAG . THE ROOMS ARE SMALL. THERE IS NOTHING FOR A FAMILY WITH KIDS TO DO. THE PRICES FOR THEASE ROOMS ARE SOME WHAT HIGH.... BUT THERE IS NO RUSH TO FIX A POOL THAT IS INCLUDED WITH YOUR STAY. No sorry for the inconvenience...no nothing . ITS A PUMP PAY MORE TO GET IT AND HAVE HAPPY GUESTS.
TOTAL LET DOWN FOR SOMETHING THAT WE HOPED TO BE SO NICE .
Despite this total let down, I did run into a few nice things. The lady who works at the front desk during the day is extremely polite and helpful. The maintenance man was awesome. Do to the fact my 4 year old locked her self in the bathroom and he had her out in 2 min. The cleaning lady would always let me borrow the vacuum to clean our room and bring us fresh towels. It's just hard being always from home and telling your kids even tho they see this huge pool they cant go in it.
