The basis for the review is that during my last visit to the emergency room, the treating doctor did not read the X-ray correctly resulting in ordering unnecessary additional lab work, additional costs about $900, and extended my infant child suffering by a day. Another doctor the next day looked at the X-ray and did confirm pneumonia in which proper treatment was then provided. After attempting to work with the hospital on adjusting the bill, they essentially told me that the doctor in question is not an employee of CHOA, that I had to contact some other company, they don t think a mistake was made (even though their investigation did not include the treating physician, the case was looked at by the emergency room director) and that the bill will not be adjusted.
