Review of CCSPCA Fresno

They kill about 82% of the animals that come in here. 96% of the cats and 70% of the dogs. Fresno ranks #1 in California for the animal shelter kill rate out of all 58 counties. The CCSPCA does nothing to educate the community about spay-neuter, nor do they spend a penny on raising awareness. As a non-profit they are eligible for free public service announcements on tv and radio, but they're too lazy to do it. They refuse to look into new methods to keep animals alive, such as the NO KILL Equation that has already reduced the animals shelter kill rate in Los Angeles by 20% in it's first year. The knowledge is there to stop the killing but the CCSPCA refuse to even hear it. My cousin lives in Hawaii, the SPCA where she lives offers the spaying and neuter of feral cats for only $5. In Hawaii they use the trap neuter return model to reduce the number of shelter cats and lower the kill rate. They let residents check out human traps for free. They are in full support of trap neuter return to save the cats. Here, the CCSPCA keeps everyone ignorant of trap neuter return and prefers to keep the 96% kill rate it's cats. Instead they just blame everyone else. They'd rather just keep killing. They don't even have a single volunteer pass out flyers about spay-neuter to raise public awareness. Truth be known they want the animals to die. They're livelihood depends on it. Because once Fresno has enough homes for all the animals that's the day the CCSPCA goes out of business and the Brechmann's relatives have to find a real job that require education and training. The CCSPCA brings Fresno down even further, We're the poorest county in all of California (check the Census stats if you don't believe me), and now the CCSPCA makes sure we're #1 in animal murder too. The CCSPCA spends 2/3 of it's budget on salaries, leaving only a small portion for the animals. The CCSPCA doesn't even have pet retention services, where a volunteer can can counsel you about possible alternatives other than surrendering your pet. Sometimes people panic and just can't think. I pet retention volunteer could help. There are so many free and low cost things the CCSPCA could do to save animals, but they refuse to even attempt to even try. Fresno would do far better if the whole CCSPCA went to hell and left us to build from the ground up.
