This is a great company to drive for. I have been working here for a year and a half now. Still on my first truck, which is terrific, considering how with every other company I have worked for, I was at least in truck #4 by now. When I was assigned to a truck, I found it to be very clean. Like, as if professionally detailed kind of clean.
The shop is really good. Every time I am through the yard, they are expecting me and they are ready to do their job. Shop crew meets me at the fuel pump and assigns me a bay for the tractor and trailer. Work is done quickly and correctly the first time, every time. The first thing the shop crew asks me is how long until I need to roll out of the yard. They respect my time schedule. I appreciate that.
There are full bathrooms upstairs, each with a shower. Towels are provided. Laundry is free. Laundry detergent is provided, also free. *nice touch* There is a big, well stocked fridge in the break room, with a little sign: "Have lunch on us." Sweet.
Miles are really good. I get many 2000+ mile loads. Almost zero loads under 1000 miles. Dispatch allows enough time to pickup and deliver, but not so much time that I ever sit, idle. Almost every time, I have a reload already planned the day before I deliver. So I am never left sitting, waiting for dispatch to make a move for me. They trust me to do my job and they do their own job of keeping me rolling.
Sirius XM radio is provided and paid for by Holland, along with Direct TV. A TV is mounted to the wall. provided by Holland. Ditto fridge/freezer, inverter and a working APU. Also, I am allowed to have a pet and rider in my truck.
I love my job here and I seriously recommend giving Holland a try if you are a driver looking for a perfect fit. I found mine right here. Hope this was helpful. :)
Update: I got my brand new truck, a 2020 model, in February. I love it, though I still miss my old truck. I get super attached to my trucks, I name them, and it's hard to let them go. Anyway, my new truck is a total badass. I call her Nancy. I've been with Holland for two and a half years now, and I can very honestly say that even my worst day driving for Holland beats the heck out of my best day, driving for anyone else.
