I would not recommend this facility under any circumstances as THEY DISCRIMINATE. My sister, who has a physical disability, was acutely suicidal and after spending 30 minutes on the phone taking her information they then told me that they would not take her because she was "low functioning" (apparently they equated disabled with low functioning)- I explained that she is not low functioning, that she is merely physically disabled; she actually has attended 3 years of college courses and graduated with a 3.5 from high school. I admitted that she is socially awkward, induced by her disability which prevents her from interacting naturally with others. The intake person said nevertheless they would not accept her as a patient. I said, "you all don't take patients who are physically disabled?" They said no due to hospital policy. Surely hospital policy is not set to discriminate. Additionally, her tone and inflection made it abundantly clear that the reason they would not help this acutely suicidal patient is because they believed her to be "low functioning." Either the employees there are so uneducated as to equate a physical disability with mental retardation or the facility is boldly discriminatory toward those who are physically handicapped. Either way, I would recommend that all those in need of lifesaving mental assistance stay as far from this place as possible. They truly should be shut down as a facility undoubtedly would for discriminating against race.
