When seeing Dr. Berkoff for the first time it was quickly obvious that he loves what he does. Not feeling rushed and having a health professional that really cares is so important to me and not easy to find. With Dr. Berkoff I found exactly that. He has decades of experience and it shows in his treatment style and no gimmicks approach. Compared to some other chiropractors I've seen, he didn't just crack my back and say see you next time. No, he made it a point to evaluate and find the real cause of the chronic neck and shoulder pain I was having. He treated my neck and shoulder pain over the course of a few months with continuing improvement. He taught me so much about what I can do my self, at home or during work in the office to keep the pain away. When I was pain free, he surprised me when he said I don't need regular visits any more. That just showed me he is not about how to get as much visits and payments out of me as possible, but to simply get me well. He really built a personal relationship with me over time witch just gave me the feeling of really being taken care of. I also loved that he is located in a family practice with Dr. Michaels so I basically had all my healthcare needs covered in one location.
After my pain was gone and I hit the gym regularly, I visited every now and then when I was tense or strained something. During that time he helped me a lot with my nutrition and fitness goals. I've rarely seen any health professional as knowledgable in nutrition as Dr. Berkoff is. With a few changes to my nutrition that I thought was sooo healthy, I lost that stubborn little belly fat most of us know, that I couldn't get rid of no matter how much I worked out.
Now that I moved to Germany and only visit San Diego for business, I still go to Dr. Berkoff's office every time I am in town, especially cause those long flights mess up my back and he gives me instant relief.
