Took awhile to decide to place a review of my recent experience with this dealership, but figured I should just to let others know. Needed to find a new vehicle since my truck bit the dirt. Was kinda in a rush. Liked the Malibu's so that was what I began to look for. Went to the dealership on a Friday night to see. Meet up with the salesman and told him what I was looking for. Took me out to the lot and showed me a 2014 Malibu that I had already told him was not what I wanted to spend. Mistake #1. He insisted that they could work with me on the price and things. Decided to see. (They did have others that were more in line with what I was willing to pay. Did not even show them to me even when I asked.) Decided to take for a test drive. As I approached the car, the salesman had all the windows down and the ac running full blast. Did not think to much about it since it was a hot day. Thought, just airing it out and cooling the inside. Took for a test drive and made the purchase. Was not able to take procession at that point. Salesman wanted to have it detailed. The next day I waited for several hours and never heard from them so I had to call. Was told that they were trying to Ionize the inside of the car and it would take a couple of hours. After about 4 hours of waiting, I called again to see what was going on. Now it was ready for me to get. Went to get the car and the salesman informed me of the real reason for the extra time. They were trying to get a smell out of the car. A smell??? Why was I not informed of this smell before The purchase??? Well it seemed to be gone just the lingering smell of the air fresheners that they used. Over the next few weeks the smell came back, but was not alone. Along with the smell came little flying bugs. At one point it was so bad I could hardly drive the car. Most of the time had to have the windows rolled down. Took it back to the dealership and so far the smell has not returned. Also a week after the purchase of the car the gas cap cover fell off. Took it in. After waiting for a while the parts person said they would have to order the part and that was it. He never quoted me a price or anything. I thought that they would get it with no charge. Only had the car for a week. Things don't just fall off. Waited for 3 weeks and never heard anything about it. Decided to go to the dealership and find out about it. Sent me to the parts department and after about 20 minutes of searching they bring a primed cap and inform me that it will cost 200 dollars just for the cap. This did not include the price to have it color matched to the car. If they would have been up front from the beginning, would have never purchased the car. I believe in being up front and honest with others. Obviously Dan Vaden does not. Let the buyer beware.
I am leaving the original post for reference. A very nice lady named Shawnna has gotten in touch with me and as of right now, the Malibu is in the shop getting the items fixed. Her efforts have restored my confidence in this dealership. Thank you Shawnna for your quick response and efforts. It is really appriciated.
