Had an incredible experience dealing with AERA.

Our puppy was stricken with an extremely rare bone disease called Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy, which was causing him lameness, extreme pain, and high fever. We had previously brought him to our vet and he was not properly diagnosed.

After about 3 minutes of examining him, Dr. Coogan made the immediate and correct diagnosis, which is impressive considering the rarity of this disease. Our pup was treated immediately and spent 6 days at AERA. The team of techs and vets led by Dr. Johnson provided him the extensive care he required, did it warmly and with affection for him, and were patient and extremely considerate with us, calling each day to give us any updates, answering the same nervous questions we repeatedly posed and assuring us that he was in the best hands.

HOD is a disease that can caise permanent damage if left untreated in a case as severe as presented in our puppy. Thanks to AERA's skillful, competent treatment, our puppy will grow to be a healthy adult dog. We are forever greatful and wouldn't hesitate to enthusiastically recommend AERA to anyone in need of an emergency vet, or anyone with an animal suffering from a rare, undiagnosed/misdiagnosed condition.

The only drawback to this experience was that they are quite costly, but when it comes to medical care you tend to get what you pay for. We still use our regular vet but have AERA on speed dial for emergency situations.
