I rarely leave reviews, and when I do, it's because I had a good experience. That was not the case at this restaurant. Believe every poor review here, aloof, rude, slow waitress and manager. Dirty paper menu (gross really), very few people in the place, asked to seat myself and waited. No water offered and shockingly expensive final bill for what I was served.
I have celiac and cannot eat anything with gluten in it. It was breakfast and all I wanted was a plain egg omlette with tomatoes and onions. As I tried to explain to the waitress what to tell the cook to prepare my food safely (cook it in a separate skillet, don't touch it with bread products and use a clean utensil to prepare it- not hard to do) she got blustery and told me they had a policy that they could not accommodate people with allergens. She called the manager over to talk to me, and he cut me off rudely as I tried to explain what I needed, saying they absolutely could not guarantee any safe food handling practices. At this point, I would have left, but I have a layover and I am starving. They reluctantly took my order. The only saving grace here is that the cook, though visibally put off by the "special order" did follow my request and I did not have a reaction to the food, but it was laughingly small portion and overcooked. A second waitress who brought my food to the table was exceptionally kind. My waitress ran my credit card and brought the receipt for me to sign, saying she would be right back with a pen, and then disappeared. I had to flag the other kind waitress down, who promptly handed me a pen and apologized for the one who was MIA in a way that made me think this was a regular occurrence. Really bad experience. Next time I will stick with Starbucks.
