If using Uber or Lyft, I recommend going to Station P2 and taking the AirTrain to your terminal; you'll save on your fare this way. Terminal C is nice, but only because United invests heavily in it. The others are a bare-bones travel experience. Access is a mixed bag: it's more easily accessible to Midtown Manhattan than Kennedy or LaGuardia via commuter rail, however public transit to other surrounding areas is spotty and may require multiple transfers. The road system is circuitous and could use a major redesign. The AirTrain is an aging late-90s Von Roll monorail that is sluggish, small, and needs to be replaced. Overall not as bad as LaGuardia, but in need of major upgrades.
