My experience this year in the Radiology Dept. was satisfactory while getting a Mamagram. Covid 19 protocols were in place, the clinic was clean and organized as well as the staff being friendly and professional. I cannot say the same for last year where I spent 9 days on the 3rd floor unit. It started out okay with my own private room and a very friendly night nurse. After that it turned into a nightmare. Where I felt helpless. It all depended which nurse was on board for that shift how you would be treated. On the weekends you were almost alone and I remember needing more pain medicine or.more.meds which I usually took at home.but could not receive because they claim they did not want those meds to interfere with my condition when they did not. I needed stronger meds.for my Hbp because after I ate it still went up and had to continue asking the nurse to call the doctor to increase my dose which they took forever to do. The bathroom floor was filthy and had residue around the entire floor that had dried from mopping. The closet was dusty and had the smell of mildew, the mattress was old and flat and uncomfortable and at least 2 of the nurses who came on different shifts act as if they didnt have a clue about patients who had high blood pressure I had to literally explain to one of them the repercussions of hbp!! The other one acted if I was bothering her most of the time. The remaining nurses where my life savers. Lastly my cellphone was stolen while I was sleep kept it next to me on the bed charging. Woke up that morning and it was gone notified head nurse she mentioned that someone had stole an employees at the front desk before. Called security and they said all they could do was make.a report and there was no reimbursement. My son bought me another asked nurse if she could lock it up for me she refused. I was so miserable in different ways. I couldn't wait to go home. .Not sure whats in the hospitals food either each time I ate the lunch and dinner meals my pressure would shoot up and I had already been given my blood pressure pill for the evening. The next dose wasn't until 10pm so there I was with my head banging until then after eating. It was horrible. I needed my iron and bone pills and could not get any. This was my first time there in 19 years when I was there on the 3rd Fl after receiving a kidney transplant....boy habe things changed lWhc is not the same I know that...a sign of the times. Sidenote: The bathrooms in the emergency room were dirty and nasty too. Each one. The floors, toilet, sink everyrhing. Time for a real Housekeeping Supervisor all over the hospital... not just in certain areas, some areas do not look like tje areas I was in.
