When will kill shelter apologists realize that the CCSPCA neglects its duty educate the community in regards to spay/neuter pets. When is the last time anyone has seen so much as a billboard educating the public that cats can get pregnant as early as 4 months? Never. CCSPCA even goes as far as killing spayed/neutered stray and feral cats when it is not necessary. There is method called TNR (trap-neuter-return) where a person can trap a feral cat, get a fixed by a vet, and then free it after recovery. The top 1/8 of the cat's right is clipped so as to show the cat has been spayed/neutered. The CCSPCA was COMPLETELY UNAWARE of this method of animal control. I learned this through a phone call I made to them a month ago. When I called the CCSPCA didn't even know what TNR was. I had to explain it to them bit by bit. Even then they put me on hold until someone who barely spoke English picked up the phone. I had to then call them back and that's when they told me that the a TNR fixed feral cat would still be put to death. The CCSPCA still insists on killing these feral cats even though they can no longer reproduce and may be feed by community residents. One should also not that the CCSPCA does not practice TNR, nor do they educated the public about TNR, nor do they offer free spay/neuter for TNR cats. They simply kill them. This is not animal control. This is just killing animals needlessly.
