DO NOT MISTREAT MY SPECIAL NEEDS DAUGHTER!!!!!!
DO NOT MISTREAT MY SPECIAL NEEDS DAUGHTER!!!!!!
My apologies for the rant but, I have to get the word out in hopes that other families with special needs children can BEWARE of this agency!
Buckingham Community Services, Inc. of Connecticut in Newington, CT has been getting state funding from the State of Connecticut to "provide individualized vocational development and on site support designed to assure success in competitive private sector work settings." Instead, they have been mistreating my child. They have NO respect for their clients. Many of their clients come from group homes and have no one to advocate on their behalf. They put up a professional front and yet are completely UNPROFESSIONAL and downright nasty to their clients. These clients are individuals who have no voice as, many times, they do not even recognize that they deserve better treatment.
I spoke with the DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS Donald R. Barnes and he continuously insisted that my child was 'FINE' despite my efforts to make him aware that that was NOT the case. NEVER ONCE did he attempt to come up with a PROFESSIONAL suggestion to get together for a possible resolution to the problem. He is aware that one of his staff members has been BULLYING my Down Syndrome child and he opted to ignore the issue when I brought it to his attention. His response was simply to tell me that I should keep my daughter at home or take her to a different agency.
I have a recording in which the second in command (NORTHERN REGIONAL SUPERVISOR Melissa Ming) admits to knowing that my child is being BULLIED by one of the staff members and yet she opted to ignore it. They are there to take advantage of the state's funding and yet want to sit in their offices and collect their paychecks while their clients are treated POORLY and UNPROFESSIONALLY by their staff.
NO MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*****I would definitely appreciate it if you can "SHARE"
