I had rescued an abandoned cat and took it to the Humane Society to put it in its shelter system, since I knew it to be no-kill. Unfortunately the shelters were full because there were relocations from hurricane Harvey. But they gave me a hugely discounted price for neutering, required shots, and parasite removal so I could keep it until finding it a permanent home. They have a donation fund from which they draw to cover neutering/vaccination costs for rescued animals. Their vet services overall are more affordable than other private animal hospitals. I had never had a cat before, so the vets and staff were very helpful and friendly in answering my questions and giving good advice. They are very busy and usually booked out for good reason but are angels.
