I visited the Menil collection on today with my niece who was visiting from Georgia. We were super excited to see the Russian icons exhibit. It was free of charge and it was a wonderful experience to view the pieces. The absolute most horrible and worst experience was a security guard a gentleman who followed us who cornered my niece in the Russian icon section .when I tried to get his attention to make nice so to speak he snapped at me got angry with me and said that I snapped my fingers at him . Then he proceeded to come behind us to reprimand me in his own way for asking a question. When I called to speak with the Staffing manager of course I did not receive a call back. In a place like this where the artwork is so beautiful and pristine, the attitudes of the staff should match. Just as other reviewers have said, the artwork is phenomenal. But feeling as if you are in a police state isn't fun. I am a teacher and a history buff, but i will not return here.
