Did not stay in the hotel I only visited the reserve. Getting there is easy as it is clearly signposted and there is ample parking. Entrance for a family of 5 is expensive so I would advise buying tickets online the day before. If you do not get there early then you will have an hour's wait for the safari trucks although there is also a walking trail if you want to exercise your legs.
The animals seem fit and healthy but I doubt if you will see all of them as many are nowhere to be seen.
Had lunch at the BabyDoll Italian restaurant which was nice and the gardens near the hotel are really nice. The gift shop was good too and well stocked. Although it is the first time that I have ever been there I got the impression that more effort is put into encouraging customers to stay at the hotel.
