Sometimes the old cliche "you get what you pay for" is actually factual. Empire / Luna Carpet had competitive pricing, that's why I hired them. Unfortunately, it was all downhill thereafter. For a 1-room install of carpet and laminate tile combined, it took them more than four weeks to complete because of several issues:

The service workers brought the wrong materials to my home twice. One appointment they just simply didn't call/show. Because the laminate crew is different from the carpet crew, the laminate crew complained of the previous team's work. They refused to give me a refund and pickup their materials. Lastly, the laminate crew was ready to walk away from the job because they said they couldn't lay materials on concrete plus the height wouldn't allow for floor clearance. After I (the non-expert) showed them that the floor was not concrete and suggested they measure the floor-to-door height is when they laid the tile.

For such a small project, it wasn't worth the hassle. I do not recommend working with this company.
