Trying to provide objective feedback: The doctors, receptionists as well as their billing department are all very friendly and helpful. I don't have complaints. However, as other people mentioned here, the labs contracted with this clinic are terrible. I wouldn't mind to point it out the name of the lab, please be careful if your blood work or any other samples are sent to UIC Reference Laboratory.

1. Lab service costs are higher comparing to other labs and are not transparent. This lab tends to unbundle codes for more profits as I was charged lab services and pathology separately while other labs only charge one code. That said, you may receive multiple lab bills for same services which could have been submitted as one.

2. Accuracy of results are doubtful. Their over-interpreted results have led to unnecessary surgical procedure. They have mentioned in the addendum that the pathology was done by staff in residency under supervision. But nobody knows how close the supervision is in place.

3. Michigan Avenue Primary Care doesn't not have too much control over their contracted labs. Patient wouldn't know an estimate of the lab services, and UIC reference lab even ran additional test and charged my insurance without my consent and failed to notify anyone. The lack of communication between this clinic and it's contracted labs results in billing issues that waste patient's money and time.

We are all tax payers and insurance premium payers. Providers like UIC reference lab is the reason why our medical insurance is so expensive nowadays. Please choose your provide wisely and take the labs they contract with into your consideration.
